After two weeks, Taraba raises panel on Cameroon rebels’ invasion

In a bid to end killings and ensure safety of lives and property, Taraba State Government has inaugurated a committee to address conflict between herders and farmers in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area of the state.

The government also set up a fact-finding committee on the alleged invasion of the state by the Ambazanian Separatists Movement from Cameroon about two weeks ago.

The Commission for Information and Re-Orientation, Danjuma Adamu, disclosed this at a press briefing in Jalingo.

Adamu said, “The governor is doing his best to secure lives. His efforts and support to security agencies have led to the drastic reduction in the incidences of kidnapping and other crimes in the state.

“In a bid to end killings and ensure safety of lives and property, the governor has inaugurated a committee to address conflict between herders and farmers in Karim-Lamido LGA.

“He has also set-up a committee to probe the alleged invasion of the state by the Ambazanian Separatists Movement from Cameroon.

“To further compliment efforts of security agencies in the fight against crime, the administration has embarked on the construction of befitting command headquarters for the Taraba State Marshall to combat criminal activities,” he said.
