Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan on Tuesday launched a massive public awareness strategy aimed at persuading people to take part in the country’s national population census slated for August 2022.

“Better data will help our country to plan for better lives and accountability,” said President Hassan when she launched the strategy in the capital Dodoma.

The strategy is an initiative aimed at sensitizing and mobilizing Tanzanians to cooperate and take part in the crucial census for the development of the country.

She urged clerics and all other stakeholders to intensify awareness campaigns to convince all people to show up during the census to enable the country to have appropriate statistics which can help in planning for development.

This will be the sixth population census to be carried out in the East African nation. Enditem
