Uganda: Festoweb Targets Spain Training Camp to Market Ugandan Youth


The road to become an elite footballer is a long and hard one with many young footballers on the continent who harbour such dreams rarely achieving it.

One of the routes that is fast becoming popular however is through training camps. That is what sport management group FestoWeb is trying to set up going by the management company’s director Angura Ella Herbert.

According to Angura who is also player intermediary to players such Express captain Enoch Walusimbi and Tooro’s Rashid Mukungu, FestoWeb is partnering with GGFI Glasman Group Football International to hold the camp.

“This is a historical opportunity for young and talented football players in Uganda under a code name “Team Fundi” to attend a show case in Spain, just like the motto; “We build bridges to create a reality of prosperous and disciplined Youth,” explained Angura.

During the camp in Al Faz Del PI, the 22 selected players that will travel with FestoWeb are also expected to play games against Segunda B teams over a 12-day duration in early August.

The games are expected to be graced by international scouts and football intermediaries from 12 other countries according to Angura

All games will be played at the Estadio Municipal, Guillermo Amor Av Ciudad Deportiva and Benidorm Alicante Stadium according to Angura.
