Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Kambole deal nearing completion

Zambian striker Lazarous Kambole is nearing a move to Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs, TimesLive reports.

The Zesco United marksman is hot property on the continent, and recently named Amakhosi and rivals Orlando Pirates, as well as AmaZulu among clubs chasing after his signature.

“I’m not so sure. There are a lot of clubs that are interested in me. So, I’m not so sure which club I will be [playing] next [season]. Kaizer Chiefs is one of them,” Kambole told SABC Sport.

“There’s Simba from Tanzania, and there’s one team from Angola… Augusto, and two teams from South Africa, which are Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu.

Destination Naturena for Kambole

However, according to TimesLive, the striker seems to be headed to Naturena, after an unnamed Zesco United official confirmed the news to the publication.

“Lazarous’ deal is almost done. The teams have agreed terms and player has agreed personal terms with the team‚” the official told TimesLive.

“At this time we are not able to reveal the details of the team though.”

Amakhosi are well acquainted with the striker, who found the net against them both home and away in the Caf Confederations Cup.

With two strikers, Gustavo Paez and Ryan Moon, having departed Chiefs in recent weeks, Kambole will be a welcome addition to the club, which managed just 33 league goals in 30 matches in the 2018/19 season.
